Have you Heard of Window Farms?

It's a great idea for people who live in apartments in big cities that still want to farm/garden! Window Farms are vertical, low-energy, hydroponic, edible window gardens built with recycled materials from your home. It's almost like a garden curtain for your home.

This project isn't just about being green, it's also about social networking and chatting with others who have built their own Window Farms to make yours better.

The two women who started this, Britta Riley and Rebecca Bray in Feb '09, said "You can buy your own parts and build your own system using our how-to instructions, which include recommended sources. However, we have received a huge number of requests for kits and we are currently ramping up production. If you are interested in purchasing a kit, please let us add you to the list of people to contact when they are available by sending an email with the subject line "I'd like a kit" to info [at] windowfarms [dot] org"
