Bedrock Industries - Valentine's Day

What are you doing for Valentine's Day? The Seattle Metropolitan Magazine had a great article about Bedrock Industries and what they will host for you and a loved one on Valentine's Day. Down at Golden Gate Gardens starting at 4:30pm is the Annual Throwing of the Hearts! They like to hear your stories of how you found one of their hearts at the beach, or how you might have participated in previous years and what you thought of it. These hearts are recycled glass that Bedrock Industries found on the beach and transformed them into the shape of a heart. You and your loved one can then throw them into the sound and see how many skips they will make. I think this is pretty cute and romantic idea, what do you think?

Miss America 2008 Kirsten Haglund's Evening Gown

Did you see Miss America 2008 Kirsten Haglund's evening gown? It was a see through dress with jewels in areas you were not allowed to see. Was it just me or did it trigger bad memories of Britney Spears in a similar outfit a year or two ago?

Compare these two outfits:

Kirsten Haglund - Miss America 2008

VS.
Britney Spears Toxic:
NOTE: For those of you who commented and were upset about this post. I also think the Miss American Organization is great and it helps women build their self confidence. I just feel that her dress was a bit inappropriate for this type of pageant.

The new kind of pump

I read a lot of fashion magazines online and FabSugar has been showing a new kind of heel/pump on some of their models. What do you think of this heel?

This United Nude Leather Pump is 75 pounds, so about $150 dollars. Personally, I think they are kinda of weird, but who knows I might get a pair if they are cheaper.

Here's another pump by Marc Jacobs (Take a look at their spring 2008 collection, there's a lot more on the website):

M by Marc Bouwer Asymmetrical Top with Bow Accent

A couple of months ago I found a cute dress by Banana Republic that was Asymmetrical and today I found a fun top by Marc Bouwer that is also Asymmetrical. I think I'm drawn towards this style, because it's a feminine look, yet fun and trendy. Not too stuffy and not too revealing.

What do you think of this top? Marc Bouwer Asymmetrical Top

Updated Info on Eden Hill Queen Anne Apartments

I found out that they actually do not take pets, they just have a picture of a dog on their website. That's a bit misleading.

Here are their prices:

Eden Hill has a variety of studio, one bedroom, and two bedroom units available for rent. Several of these have been reserved, but there are options still available. To give you an idea on rental prices, I have included the approximate monthly price of different units:
Unit 201: $2,851 (2 bd)
Unit 209: $1,956 (1 bd)
Unit 212: $1,304 (Studio)

Here's a little fact I didn't know. "As you may know, Eden Hill was the original name of the area now commonly known as Queen Anne. We are excited to become a part of a community that prides itself on its rich history and we hope you will be able to join us on top of the hill! "

Eden Hill Queen Anne Apartments

Eden Hill, a new luxury apartment building on Upper Queen Anne will open in March 2008. The one sad thing about this place, is that it replaced the best restaurant on Queen Anne, called Pete's Pizza & Calzones. This place has been long gone for about a year now and it's sooo sad.

One good thing about Eden Hill is I think they will take pets from the pics on their website. They will have 36 residential apartments from Studio's to 2 bedrooms with modern amenities and underground parking.

They are located on Queen Anne Avenue between Howe and Crockett street. Here's a map:

Flakes - An Indie Film

Today on On Demand, I watched an indie film called "Flakes". It's about an inspiring rock musician (Neal) in New Orleans who works in a Cereal Bar. His girlfriend (Miss Pussy) is constantly pressuring him to take a week off work and work on his music.

Neal can't give up his passion for cereal and let down the owner/customers of the cereal bar. The bar is a place where locals can hang out and debate about cereal history. Twists and turns come when a business man comes to town and starts the same type of cereal bar across the street.

Even though this was a strange movie, I really liked the idea of a cereal bar. Here are some pics from IMDB - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0462295/:

Thanksgiving 2007 Picture

On our trip from Yakima to Montesano during Thanksgiving break, Wes and I decided to stop along the way and capture the moment. We had just made it over white pass to see a beautiful view of Mt. Rainer. I put the camera on Wes's car and turned on the timer. Of course I had to be a goof ball in the picture and throw snow in the air. The camera captured the moment at the perfect time!

Gossip Girl Jan 2nd, 2008

My favorite show this season is Gossip Girl. It includes all the things I love; scandal, fashion, gossip and relationships. These high school kids find all the new gossip from text messaging and Gossip Girl's website. It's based in the Upper East Side in Manhattan, NY where the wealthy and complex world isn't easy.

What better way to start off your new year than a new episode of gossip girl last night.

Here are some of my favorite outfits in the show:

Look at Blair in her red tights, I just adore this outfit.

Cool New Blog - Pony A Day

Check out my boyfriends new blog called Pony A Day by Wes Maldonado. He searches the web for a pretty pony picture and posts a new one EVERYDAY! If you ask me, I think it's pretty retarded, but what the hay (like my play on words hehe), I gotta support him ;)

I told him he should write more about the pony and where it comes from, instead of just posting a picture of some random pony. I MUST KNOW WHERE THE PONY IS FROM!!!!!!!!!

Real Live Cats Held in Window Display at San Francisco Macy's

At first, I thought Macy's was crazy to hold real live cats in the window's of their store in San Francisco. People were blocking the side walks with their eyes glued on these cats in Macy's Christmas window display.

When I returned to Seattle I did a bit of research to figure out if Macy's was just storing these cats in the windows to get more customers or if there was another reason. Apparently, Macy's was doing a good thing working with the San Francisco SPCA (The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals). These cats were actually homeless and being in the window was providing them with another chance to get adopted. Take a look at their live webcam and how to adopt them.

Here are some pics I took:
Can you find the cat sleeping behind the tree?

Here's another cat taking a nap in a fancy bed:
