La Isla Seattle

Wes was taking me out to dinner last night and I told him I could eat anything but Thai, since I ate that for lunch. We found a Mexican place online, but once we got to Ballard we couldn't find it. We parked, got out of the car and started walking around. I looked across the street and saw La Isla, a Puerto Rican restaurant, so we decided to eat there instead.

La Isla Seattle started out as a small vendor in the Sunday Fremont Market. After 5 years, they found a tiny little spot with outdoor seating in ballard to put their restaurant: 2320 NW Market St, Seattle, WA 98107.

It was about 6:45pm when we arrived and there were only two tables left out of about 15 in the whole restaurant. 30 minutes later tons of people started to come in and there was such a large wait people started sitting outside in the freezing 50 degree weather.

The food was great!! Here's what we ate:

Appetizer - Gandules Dip...$6.99Scrumptious blend of onions, garlic, red peppers, green pigeon peas, olive oil, vinegar and spices. Served with five (5) tostones (smashed and fried plantains)

Drinks - 10 Cane Mojito...$11.00
The most delicious and smooth mojito you will ever have, well worth the price

Jodi's Entree-Camarones Entrees...$15.99
Butterfly Prawns sautéed in olive oil, white wine, and butter served up with your choice of three sauces: A la Criolla - sautéed bell peppers and onion in a red creole sauce create an original and exciting blend.

Wes's Entree-Pez Gato...$13.99
